There is no coastline quite like Big Sur. Big Sur captures the view from the golden hillside looking south — dry summer grass sweeping down to a cluster of dark coastal oaks, the winding road disappearing around the headland, and the deep cobalt Pacific stretching wide and luminous to the horizon beneath a soft, cloud-streaked sky.
